In his last few months in office, Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether has come under scrutiny over how the city has handled the bids for the planned $50 million mixed-used parking ramp.
In tonight's Eye On KELOLAND at 10, Angela Kennecke sits down with Huether and others in city leadership to ask why the improper asbestos removal from the Copper Lounge building didn't make a difference in the decision to go with some of the same players for the mixed-use ramp.
Kennecke: So why does the city chose to do business with these people rather than other people in less than a year after that horrific collapse?
Huether: I think the first thing you have to do is look a the process itself. They try to keep it as objective as they can. It's a tried and true process where you do have to have the fortitude to get through it.
Hear why the city says the public should have complete confidence in the decisions made regarding the taxpayer-funded project in downtown Sioux Falls — and in the ramp itself — tonight on KELOLAND News at 10.
