The host didn’t waste any time in slamming the disgraced film producer as he brought up the “elephant in the room” within the first five minutes.

During his opening monologue, the 44-year-old addressed the scandal and even joked about Harvey’s death.

He began: "It's 2018 and marijuana is finally allowed in California and sexual harassment finally isn't, it's going to be a good year."

The late night host later added: ”Harvey Weinstein isn't here tonight because, well, I've heard rumours that he's crazy and difficult to work with.

“Don’t worry, he'll be back in 20 years when he'll be the first person to be booed during the In Memoriam segment."

The star-studded audience gasped in shock at the host’s comment to which Seth quipped: “It will sound like that.”

At the Golden Globes, the vast majority of celebrities dressed in black to support the Time’s Up movement.

The protest aims to raise awareness of sexual harassment and inequality for women in the workplace following the Harvey Weinstein allegations.

Harvey, 65, has been accused of sexual harassment by dozens of women – including actresses Gwyneth Paltrow, Lupita Nyong'o and Angelina Jolie – and is currently under investigation in four cities.

He has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex.
