CES 2018 gets underway this week with some of the world’s biggest technology firms heading to the bright lights of Las Vegas.

The Consumer Technology show is one of the biggest events of the year and 2018 is expected to be full of the latest and greatest gadgets, cars and top new trends.

Samsung, Sony, LG, Huawei and Panasonic are all expected to reveal a raft of new products and expect plenty of other manufacturers to give an early glimpse of what’s to come later this year.

Here’s Express.co.uk’s guide to what’s on at this year’s CES tech show.

Some rumours suggested that Samsung would unveil its latest .

This now looks highly unlikely although the Korean technology firm may use the event to tease what’s to come from its new smartphone.

So, if there’s no smartphones what will Samsung unveil?

It’s likely fans will get their first glimpse at Samsung’s next generation of TVs.

These will no doubt be bigger, brighter and thinner than anything we’ve seen before.

There could also be the launch of more lifestyle TVs with Samsung using last year’s CES to reveal its televisions that appear to look like picture frames hung on the wall.

Samsung has already announced that it will unveil a new premium lifestyle soundbar at CES 2018, the NW700 Sound+. 

The wall-mountable NW700 Sound+ soundbar succeeds the award-winning MS650 Sound+ model and incorporates sound-enhancing features, such as distortion-cancelling, wide-range tweeters and multi-speaker control.

LG hasn’t waited for CES to open its doors before revealing some of its new products.

Over the past couple of weeks the Korean company has been giving the world an early glimpse of what’s to come.

which it is boasting offers the highest resolution in the world with 33 million pixels - that’s 16 times more than Full HD and four times more than Ultra HD.

This industry-leading product will be showcased at LG Display’s booth at CES 2018.

Along with these next generation TVs, LG will also being showing off what it hopes will be available in the homes of the future.

A prototype

LG revealed this technology a few years ago but this will be the first time anyone has seen something on this scale.

The rollable OLED TV will offer full 4K resolution although there’s now word on when it will go on sale or how much it will cost.

Expect more TV and audio products from Sony at CES as this is where the Japanese technology firm always reveals its next range of home entertainment products.

Along with being brighter and packed with more definition than ever before, we can also expect to see the Google Assistant being added to the firm’s range of televisions.

Sony recently released its new smart speaker which includes Google’s voice search and TVs could be next.

New cameras and smart home devices could also be on show although we’re not expecting to see any smartphones unveiled by Sony.

With Mobile World Congress just a few weeks away it’s likely the technology giant will wait until then to update its Xperia range.

Along with the big tech giants showing off their shiny new devices there's always plenty of smaller companies trying to make a name for themselves at CES.

Expect a swathe of gadgets that will help you sleep, exercise and capture your life in ways you never thought possible.
