One person is dead and the search is on for a suspect in a shooting in the North 28th Street-Shahan Avenue area of Gadsden.

Police were on the scene around 5:30 p.m. No details were available about the incident.

Etowah County Coroner London Pearce confirmed there had been a fatal shooting, but said the next of kin had not been notified.

The shooting is the third incident in four days. A Gadsden teenager was shot and killed Thursday night in East Gadsden; a little girl and a teenager were injured in a shooting incident outside the Waffle House on Rainbow Drive Saturday night, and this fatal shooting was reported Sunday.
