Asus introduces mesh networking update for routers

Asus announced a new update for its routers to enable mesh networking. With the AiMesh update, users can create a flexible whole-home Wi-Fi system, and manage the system from the Asus Router mobile app or the ASUSWRT web interface. 

Enabling AiMesh on a compatible router requires a free firmware update that allows it to be added to any AiMesh network. Users can mix and match Asus models within the Mesh network, according to their budget and needs, the company said. 

The update is available now worldwide and more router models will be added to AiMesh over the coming year.
