Acer launches thinnest laptop with 4G, plus new convertible, Chromebook

Acer has launched what it says is the world’s thinnest laptop, at just 8.98 mm. The new Swift 7 also sports Windows 10, battery life of 10 hours, connectivity through a built-in Intel XMM 4G modem and a Nano Sim card slot and support for eSim systems. The device will be available in North America in March from USD 1,699 and in EMEA in April from EUR 1,699. 

The device will ship with a Transatel profile with up to 1 GB of free data valid for one month in 48 countries, while additional data plans can be purchased through the Mobile Plans application. The Swift 7 also features 802.11ac wireless with 2x2 MIMO, a 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 256 GB of PCI2 SSD storage, with 8 GB of LPDDR3 memory and a fingerprint reader. The high-resolution display is at 14 inches, with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT touchscreen and touchpad. 

The manufacturer has also launched the Acer Spin 3, a convertible laptop, with a 360-degree dual-torque hinge so that it can function as a laptop, tablet or display. The device is equipped with an 8th Gen Intel Core processor and provides up to 12 hours of battery life, with two front-facing speakers with Acer TrueHarmony technology. It has a 14-inch display. The Acer Spin 3 will be available in North America in February from USD 599 and in EMEA in January from EUR 649. 

Finally, Acer has introduced its new Chromebook 11 line, with a portable design and battery life of up to 10 hours. The new Acer Chromebook 11 (CB311-8HT / CB311-8H) offers an 11.6-inch display with two USB 3.1 Type C ports and support for Google Play. The device sports the latest Intel Celeron processors, 4GB of memory and 16GB or 32GB of eMMC storage. It is 0.71 inches (18.15mm) thin and weighs 2.43 pounds (1.1kg). Several models in the Acer Chromebook 11 line (CB311-8HT/ CB311-8H) will be available in North America in April from USD 249, and in EMEA in March from EUR 249.
