Joining the bandwagon of Swachchha Bharat campaign, Jharkhand Chapter of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI) on Sunday launched CREDAI Clean City Movement with getting solid waste disposal machine installed at Heritage Garden in Deepatoli operational.
Inaugurating the installation, Urban Development Department Minister CP Singh praised CREDAI for the step and said that the Swachchha Bharat campaign started for the first time after seven decades of independence by visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi could fetch meaning only after each and every individual, society and organization took the initiative seriously with joining hands with the government.
“The mammoth task of cleaning the country and utilize domestic waste as resource will not succeed until each and every of us contribute in the process. The initiative taken by CREDAI today is remarkable as it presents solution of disposing solid waste at local level. I hope each and every apartment in city and State will install such machines at their premises soon,” said the Minister.
CREDAI President (Jharkhand Chapter) Kumud Jha, Kanke MLA Dr Jeetu Charan Ram, Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) President Ranjeet Garodia, Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) Ward-7 Councilor Sujata Kachchhap, Heritage Garden Resident Welfare Association President Col. Ranjeet Singh along with residents, former and present CREDAI office bearers and others were also present on the occasion.
Jha said on the occasion that the CREDAI was much ahead of many other such organizations at managing solid waste at apartments and properties developed by its members with first such initiative taken in Kochi way back in 2007. “We launched this initiative in Jharkhand today with all our members pledging to install such machines in their under construction and upcoming projects in State. A solid waste machine that we have got installed which can convert daily domestic bio-waste of over 100 families in very high quality compost in merely two weeks costs less than Rs 2 Lakh. Moreover, it eases pressure on local bodies in the process of collecting and disposing solid waste, as apartments can easily manage and maintain such machines,” said Jha.He said that the CREDAI members shall start installing such machines at their properties now onwards and help government in making India clean. The Minister also expressed willingness to fund large scale machine for public purpose and on public place if organizations came forward to run and maintain it. CREDAI requested the Minister to move ahead in the direction and assured him of taking operation and maintenance in its hands.Ram named the initiative as game changer as the machine could be easily installed in apartments, hotels, restaurants and at community and ward level. “This will ease pressure on RMC a lot and it can also garner profit after some time for residents in locality,” said Ram.
