Soon after taking oath as the Chief Minister of UP, Yogi Adityanath made several changes in order to make UP a safer and a more progressive state. While executing these changes, many places were saffronised.
Recently, Yogi Adityanath’s government in UP has painted the exterior walls of Lucknow’s Haj House in saffron colour. And this is not ending here, Central government is likely to work on Yogi Adityanath’s recommendation that is to increase the width of saffron part of tricolor.
Sources say that CM Yogi Aditynath has written to the Central government asking them to double the width of saffron part of tricolor. He has also provided data and statistics justifying his demand. Currently 19 states have BJP as the government and in center also BJP is in majority.
Having said that it’s not going to be as easy as it looks since any change in national flag will mean constitutional change.
Congress has criticized CM Yogi for his recommendation and has called it a communal move. Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi said, “Colours in our national flag have never been the reflection of religions and they signify something else that I need to learn.”
BJP spokespersons were seen defending Yogi’s recommendation. In a news debate BJP spokesperson, Sambit Patra said that nothing wrong in saffronising the country as the colour signifies courage and sacrifice. And current govt has done surgical strike and demonetization to show country’s courage and sacrifice respectively.
CM Yogi is firm with his stand and says soon we are going to make changes in Pakistan flag too. We will make them put full moon, purnima, an auspicious day for Hindus, instead of existing half moon.
