Over 100 coats collected in Ashland drive

ASHLAND - A local winter coat collection at The Residence at Valley Farm ended this month with more than 100 donations.

The coat drive, a partnership between the assisted living facility and the Greater Ashland Lions Club, collected 122 coats for adults and children between Halloween and January, according to a press release from Valley Farm.

The Greater Ashland Lions Club was expected to bring the coats to Anton's Cleaners to be cleaned and donated to people in need.

Valley Farm and the Greater Ashland Lions Club will partner again on another drive in February, for hearing aids and glasses. Donations for prescription and non-prescription glasses, sunglasses, and cataract glasses, and all types of hearing aids will be accepted.

A collection box will be in the front lobby of Valley Farm, 369 Pond St. (Rte. 126). The final dates of the drive are yet to be finalized.
