India' s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp is all set enter the premium motorcycle segment with its new Xtreme 200S.
Having addressed the commuter segment with the new 2018 Splendor and Passion range, Hero MotoCorp is gearing up for the launch of Xtreme 200S in India.
It was expected that Hero MotoCorp would launch the Xtreme 200S at the 2018 Auto Expo in February. But the company has now decided to introduce its new flagship model in the country on January 30, 2018. The concept avatar of the Xtreme 200S was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, and after almost two years, Hero is finally launching the bike.

The production version of the Xtreme 200S has already been leaked, and the overall design has not changed much. The motorcycle features a sharp and muscular design with sporty tank extensions and sharp tail section. The Xtreme 200S will also get LED pilot lamps and LED tail light.
The Hero Xtreme 200S will draw power from a 200cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 18bhp and 17.2Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Xtreme 200S will be the flagship model from the stable of Hero MotoCorp.
The Xtreme 200S will be equipped with disc brakes at both the ends, and we expect Hero to offer ABS, at least as an option. The suspension duties will be handled by telescopic forks up front and gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The Xtreme 200S will also feature a digital-analogue instrument cluster.
Apart from the Xtreme 200S, Hero MotoCorp will also introduce its adventure motorcycle, the Xpulse in the Indian market in 2018. The motorcycle will utilise the same 200cc engine but, it is likely to get slightly different power and torque figures. The motorcycle will come with the long-travel suspension to justify its adventure tag.
Coming to the Xtreme 200S, the naked street fighter is likely to be priced in the range of around Rs 90,000 The deliveries of the Xtreme 200S is expected to begin from February 2018. The new flagship offering from Hero MotoCorp will rival the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
