New South Wales Police believe a string of armed robberies in Sydney's west could be linked and are searching for a man they say has been storming pizzerias with a gun.
In the latest attack, a 21-year-old working at Domino's Pizza in Wentworthville sustained serious injuries after being shot about 1:30am on Sunday.
NSW Police said that incident could be linked to four other similar hold-ups in the past two months.
All the incidents have occurred in the inner-west or western suburbs:
Date of incident | Location |
---|---|
November 20, 2017 | Canley Vale |
December 9, 2017 | Fairfield East |
December 14, 2017 | Strathfield |
December 17, 2017 | North Strathfield |
January 7, 2018 | Wentworthvillle |
Police believe a man with a gun entered the businesses on each occasion before threatening staff and leaving with cash.
The first incident happened on November 20 at a restaurant, while the subsequent hold-ups were at pizzerias.
NSW Police have released CCTV images of the man they want to speak to in relation to the robberies.
All incidents happened between 11:00pm and 2:00am.
At the incident on December 14 in Strathfield, a pizza shop employee was punched in the chest by a man who then stole cash and left.
