James Franco won the Best Actor trophy for The Disaster Artist at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards, unexpectedly bringing the subject of the film, Tommy Wiseau, on stage as part of his acceptance speech. Wiseau, donning sunglasses, is considered a bit of an eccentric for having created 2003's The Room, which is considered one of the worst films of all time.

"Come on up here, Tommy," Franco yelled to the crowd as Wiseau made his way onto the stage. "Nineteen years ago he was stuck in traffic from the Golden Globes. He said to his best friend Greg, 'Golden Globes? So what, I'm not invited. I know they don't want me, guy with the accent, long hair, so I show them. I don't wait for Hollywood, I make my own movie.' I'm very happy to share this moment with him today."
Excited as he seemed to be, Franco failed to give Wiseau an actual opportunity to speak, which quickly earned him some flack on social media.
