TVNZ star engaged to Jacinda’s ‘hot bodyguard’

He became an internet sensation last year during PM Jacinda Adern’s election campaign.
But now protection officer Iain McKay has his own spot in the limelight.
The 31-year-old bodyguard popped the question to TVNZ star Jessica Mutch during a romantic night at Auckland’s exclusive Sugar Club restaurant up the Sky Tower according to Woman’s Day.
He surprised the 1 News reporter with a cake iced with the words: "Will you marry me?"
"I don't typically get very nervous," he says.
"But I was a bit of a wreck that night as there were so many people around. But when it happened, everyone else disappeared and we were in our own little bubble."
The couple have known each other for years but only started talking again when Mutch was working in London as TVNZ’s Europe correspondent.
They enjoyed their first date in Paris in 2015.
