After a local asked Thomas Markle to elaborate on his thoughts surrounding the upcoming royal wedding, he stated that the couple are a “very good match” and that the ginger Prince was a “gentleman”.

He said: “I think it’s wonderful, I’m very delighted. I think they’re a very good match, I’m very happy for them, Meghan and Harry.

“I love my daughter very much — Harry’s a gentleman.”

The video, obtained by The Sun, shows Mr Markle expressing his desire to be left alone after giving his opinion on Meghan’s future husband.

He added: “Now leave me alone, please.

“Don’t bother me anymore. No more flashing cameras in my eyes or I’ll flash back.”

The woman who shot the video, in Rosarito, Mexico, said the father had complimented her daughter previously before answering her question.

She said: “I’ve seen him several times while visiting friends and family. He’s stopped his car while driving past my daughter and I to say how cute he thought she was.

“I didn’t know who he was when he first stopped to talk, he just seemed to be a friendly neighbour.

“I have since learned who he is because he became the latest gossip in the area. He’s always very friendly.

“When he pulled up at the store he seemed a bit irritated by the attention. But I think he recognised my daughter and I and gave us a little smile as he answered my question.”

Meghan Markle’s father previously declared he would “love to” walk his daughter down the aisle on her big day with Prince Harry.

The Suits star and her father appear to have come a long way after it was revealed last year that the two were “not on the best of terms” after a video from Meghan’s teenage years came to light.

The footage, that showed a young Meghan preparing for a Shakira music video audition and readying for a move to Northwestern University in Chicago, gave a rare glimpse into the future royal’s life as an 18-year-old.

She said: “We’re about four minutes from my dad’s house.

“From dad’s house, you can see the Hollywood sign.

“But we aren’t going to go there because my dad and I aren’t on the best of terms.

“I’d like to stop and see if I have any mail, but let’s just say I doubt it.”

Thomas Markle split from Meghan’s mother, Doria, in 1988.

Meghan has since shown greater affection for Thomas Markle - the actress previously dedicated an Instagram post to him for Fathers Day in 2016.

It read: “Happy Father's Day, daddy. I'm still your buckaroo, and to this day your hugs are still the very best in the whole wide world.

“Thanks for my work ethic, my love of Busby Berkeley films and club sandwiches, for teaching me the importance of handwritten thank you notes, and for giving me that signature Markle nose. I love you xo - Bean.”
