An Air India Goa-Mumbai AI 662 flight made a “full emergency” landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport here on Sunday night, following a hydraulic failure.
“All 90 passengers on board the incoming flight are safe,” an Airport spokesperson said.
The flight AI 662 landed safely at 8.15 pm on the runway 27 and proceeded to stand eighty two. The full emergency call was withdrawn by the airport authorities at 8.29 pm.
Informed sources at the airport said that the authorities had declared “full emergency” ahead of the arrival of the flight.
“This is an emergency call from Mumbai CSI airport. A Full Emergency has been declared on Arriving aircraft Air India six six two due hydraulic failure. Estimated time of arrival is two zero zero nine. Runway two seven is in use,” the authorities had stated in an internal message passed onto all the persons concerned, ahead of the arrival of the flight from Goa at the Mumbai airport.
