The former Liverpool star had been linked with a move to the La Liga giants throughout the season and finally got his wish when a £142m deal was finalised on Saturday.

He’ll fill the void left in Barca’s frontline by Neymar, who joined PSG during the summer.

Coutinho is ineligible to play for his new club in the Champions League but he insists he can’t wait to hit the ground running and start winning trophies.

"I'm very happy, very happy," he told Barcelona TV.

“It is incredible to know that I am going to live with idols, players with a lot of history.”
