BENGALURU: BJP state president
BS Yeddyurappa on Sunday alleged that
Congress leaders are trying to add illegal Bangaldeshi migrants to the
voters list in Bengaluru.
Speaking at the Parivarthana yatre in Vijayanagar, Bengaluru, Yeddyurappa claimed that over two lakh Bangladeshi illegals are being added to the list by Bengaluru development minister KJ George and KR Puram MLA Byarathi Basavaraj.
"We have been carefully watching the way in which the Congress has been trying to boost its chances at the 2018 elections. I can tell you that KJ George and Byrathi Basavaraj have been given the task of adding two lakh fake voters, Bangladeshi illegal immigrants, to the voters list," he said.
Yeddyurappa asked the party workers to be aware of such additions to the list and keep vigil.
"We have to be very alert and be scrupulous of the voters list which is being prepared. Such fake additions are being made by the Congress to boost their chances at the 2018 elections," said Yeddyurappa at the rally.
Earlier, Yeddyurappa promised that he will ensure that there is enough funds at disposal if he comes to power to develop Bengaluru and bring it back to its glorious past.
"The
Siddaramaiah government has been systematically trying to destroy Bengaluru. It is rather unfortunate that not a single rupee is being spent on upgrading the infrastructure and the development of Bengaluru. I am ready to restore Bengaluru to its glory, only thing is I need your support in this endeavour," he said.
