DOHA: QNB Financial Services (QNB FS), the brokerage arm of QNB Group, has ranked top in Qatar's brokerage businesses, after grabbing 27.81 percent of the total value of shares traded on Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) during the month of December 2017.
By garnering 24.89 percent of the total traded value during the month, The Group Securities stood second, followed by Dlala Brokerage (12.92 percent).
Through a total of 15,230 transactions, the combined value of shares traded by QNB Financial Services stood at QR2.89bn in December 2017. The Group Securities' value stood at QR2.59bn, QSE's trading data showed.
On cumulative basis, from the beginning of the year 2017, The Group Securities ranked top, accounting for trading 23.37 percent (QR33bn) of the total value traded on QSE in 2017. This against 27.07 percent ( QR39bn) recorded during the same period in 2016.
The QNB Financial Services stood second with a total traded value of 22.93 percent (QR32.4bn), up from18.16 percent (QR26bn) recorded in 2016. Dlala Brokerage ranked third position with 19.05 percent (QR26.9bn) compared to 8.87 percent (QR12bn) in the previous year.
In terms of total traded volume, The Group Securities consolidated its top position with 37.17 percent in December, followed by Dlala Brokerage (20.57 percent) and QNB Financial Services (12.06 percent).
According to QSE data, CBQ Investment Services acquired 11.16 percent of trading value (QR15bn) in 2017. Total number of transactions of CBQ Investment Services stood at 216,712 in 2017. The brokerage company's transactions for the month of December totaled at 15,058.
Qatar Securities' share of total traded value in 2017 was 5.33 percent (QR7.53), compared to 7.38 percent (QR10.64bn), from a year ago. The brokerage company's total traded volume stood at 7.563 million shares in 2017. The Dlala-Islamic Brokerage garnered 3.6 percent of the total trade value in 2017, marginally up from 3.2 percent posted in the previous year. The total value of shares traded by the company stood at QR5bn.
In terms of total traded value in 2017, Al Ahli Brokerage's share was at 5.05 percent ( QR7bn), compared to 4.48 percent (QR6bn) in 2016. Al Ahli Brokerage's total number of transactions in December 2017 was 10,183.
International securities accounted for 3.28 percent (QR4.64bn) of the total traded value. Its total traded volume for the year 2017 stood at 148 million. The cumulative traded value of Gulf Investments Group accounted for 3.65 percent (QR5.1bn), while the share of Islamic Securities stood at 2.58 percent (QR3.64bn).
