Royce Dean Kendall, age 64, died December 29, 2017, in Wichita Kansas. Royce was born November 6, 1953, to Dean and Norma (Thompson) Kendall of Haviland, Kansas. Royce graduated from Haviland High School and went on to graduate from Fort Hays University with a degree in physical education. Royce returned to Haviland where he farmed and raised cattle for the remainder of his life.
Royce married Kandy Lewis on September 30, 1989, in Wichita, Kansas. Royce has one son, Lane Kendall, who currently teaches English in South Korea.
Royce was proceeded in death by: his wife, Kandy Lewis Kendall; mother, Norma (Thompson) Kendall; father, Dean Woodard Kendall; and sister, Dana (Kendall) Bartlett.
He is survived by: his son, Lane Kendall; sister, Debra (Kendall) Gingerich and husband Wayne Gingerich of Dodge City, Kansas; brothers, Bryce Kendall and wife Anita of Haviland, Kansas, and Bryan Kendall, of Wichita, Kansas and 18 nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Haviland Friends Church in Haviland, Kansas with Pastor Todd Follette presiding. Cremation has taken place.
