Hard Freeze Warning ends; warmer days ahead for Emerald Coast

It will still be very cold overnight Friday, but then the temperature dramatically improves, climbing into the 60s by Monday.

The National Weather Service made it official early Friday morning that the Emerald Coast has been lifted from the Hard Freeze Warning that had been in effect this week.

According to the weather service, a Hard Freeze Warning will end at 8 a.m. Friday, though it will still be very cold overnight before warmer weather finally comes back to the region.

Overnight, the forecast is a low of 30 degrees heading into Saturday. Wind chill values will be between 25 and 30 degrees.

The difference for the region in the next 24 hours is that a Hard Freeze Warning means temperatures of 20 degrees or lower are expected, with wind chill factors dipping well into the teens.

The forecast will improve dramatically throughout the weekend.

The high Saturday is forecast for 52 degrees with a chilly low of 36 at night. On Sunday, the temperature jumps to 54 degrees with a low of 50 for the evening. On Monday, while there is a 90 percent chance of rain, the mercury skyrockets to 64 degrees with a low overnight of 51.
