Letter: Bob Sweeney: Recalling special places from Rhode Island’s past

With all the recent comments about past institutions that many of us enjoyed, I would like to point out a few more so as to stimulate readers to share their own memories.

To name just a few, there were the Palladium and Alhambra ballrooms for dancing; Rhodes Annex for weddings; Stanley Green’s, Johnson’s Hummocks and Valley Steakhouse for dining and social events; and Narragansett Pier’s main street mix of retail, dining and entertainment.

There were many more, so I encourage others to join in and let younger readers know how enjoyable living in Rhode Island has been over the years.
