A MAN was arrested following a police chase in North Yorkshire last night.
North Yorkshire Police's Operational Support Unit worked with the force's Road Policing Group, firearms unit and dog section to pursue the vehicle into South Yorkshire and Humberside.
The police helicopter was also used in the chase, which started in Whitley, ran through Doncaster, and ended in West Cowick after the car left the road and crashed in woodland.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police's Operational Support Unit said four people were in the car at the time of the chase - two men and two women, all in their late teens or early twenties.
The driver, a man in his early twenties, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon, possession of Class A and Class B drugs, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
He remains in police custody at this time, and the spokesman said the other three occupants would be spoken to by the force at a later date.
