It’s now easier than ever to upgrade your old OnePlus smartphone

OnePlus has released a new application on the Google Play Store, designed to help you migrate content from your old smartphone to your shiny new OnePlus-branded unit – namely the OnePlus 5T – in one fell swoop.
The files you can transfer are limited to applications, audio, contacts, media and messages at present, though OnePlus is working on adding support for more – like application data, camera settings and Wi-Fi history – in the not-too-distant future.

“One of our goals for Oxygen OS is an easy-to-use software experience,” explains OnePlus. “The OnePlus Switch app is our first iteration, only for devices running Android 6.0 or higher. Future updates will offer support for older versions and iOS.”
Announced back in November, the OnePlus 5T is OnePlus’ latest flagship smartphone. It features a 6-inch edge-to-edge screen, a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6/8GB of RAM, a dual-camera configuration (16MP+20MP) and a 3,300mAh battery.
Pricing for the OnePlus 5T starts at £449 for the standard 64GB variant and tops out at £540 for the elusive 128GB model. A number of exclusive accessories, including high-end earbuds, are also available from the firm’s online store.
Most recently, OnePlus added a new ‘Sandstone White’ OnePlus 5T version to its lineup, which we reckon is the nicest OnePlus phone we’ve ever used.
