The leader of the Hitorerut faction in the Jerusalem City Council, Ofer Berkowitz, has petitioned the Interior Ministry over the campaign being waged by Jerusalem's mayor Nir Barkat against finance minister Kahlon.
Berkowitz agrees that the demands to increase Jerusalem's budgets are correct but the campaign funded by public money was not authorized by the city council and Berkowitz claims that Barkat is using the situation to advance his own political goals and should be paying for the campaign out of his own pocket. He also charged that the campaign was having a negative effect on Jerusalem and was not achieving its goal of releasing budgets for the city.
