Jimmie married Patricia Broce on Jan. 1, 1960, in Alva, Oklahoma. He taught science at Liberal High School for nine years. Then he moved on to Leoti to teach at Wichita County High School, where he taught multiple generations of children before retiring. Jimmie and Patricia have two children, Jeff Dye of Moore, Oklahoma, and Lisa Blau (Steven) of Wichita. They also have two granddaughters, Kirsten and Kylee Blau. Jimmie is a member of the First Christian Church of Anthony.
