The Guernsey County Public Library will host a Community Arts Day from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Crossroads Branch Library, 63500 Byesville Road in Cambridge.
Local artists and crafters will demonstrate the creation of their work and talk with visitors about the creative process.
Continuous demonstrations are planned in painting, drawing, digital illustration, ceramics, metalwork, quilting, Swedish weaving and more. Also on display will be a collection of 30 miniature art quilts made by Ohio members of Studio Art Quilt Associates.
The day is planned to create a dialog between artists and potential arts supporters about what it takes to make works of fine art and functional craft. It is also hoped that future creative makers of any age will be inspired to learn a new technique.
