VGH Medical Board member and employee Professor Albert Fenech, a former PN MP who resigned his seat in the middle of the VGH controversy when he took up employment with the company, was asked by the newsroom yesterday whether the uncertainty threatened the future of VGH and derail any progress that has been made over the past 21 months. He insisted that an efficient plan was in place and it would not be affected by the negotiations.
Pressed further as to whether the potential transfer could affect said plan, Fenech said that should a new company take over, “they would be stupid to do away the plan”. Pointing to the significant development that has taken place at the Gozo General Hospital, which is due to face its examination for JCI Licence, in spite of the delays caused by the discovery of ancient remains on the site.
Fenech also said that VGH has so far assured employees that currently the potential transfer is still at a negotiation stage.
