What will Nvidia announce at CES 2018?

Details about what will be unveiled are thin on the ground but based on Nvidia’s past CES keynotes they could relate to everything in the company’s portfolio, including GeForce GTX, Shield and GeForce NOW.

The company used its 2017 CES keynote to unveil the Shield TV and show off a demo of the “BB8” driverless car. We’re expecting a lot more information about Nvidia AI (artificial intelligence) powered future tech at the CES 2018 keynote.

For general consumers an update on its Shield tablet line would also be very welcome. The Nvidia Shield K1 was one of TrustedReviews’ favourite Android tablets and a spiritual successor to Google’s own Nexus 7 range, which has also been woefully update free in recent years. The lack of a new Shield or Nexus meant 2017 was disappointingly free of decent affordable Android tablet. We’d like to see that change in 2018.

It’s also likely we’ll get an hint about what to expect from its next generation desktop GPUs. The company’s 10-series GPU line wrapped up last year with the release of the GTX 1070 Ti. With AMD hot on Nvidia’s tracks with its latest RX-series GPUs last year, the company may well make a move to reaffirm its market dominance in 2018. Here’s hoping.
