Dominique Ortiz scored 17 points and Mike Franchi collected 10 points and eight rebounds for Lyman Memorial (2-3, 1-1), which snapped a three-game skid.
Jackson Padula had 14 points for the Tigers (2-3, 0-1).

Killingly wins duals, NFA second
KILLINGLY - The Redmen rolled past NFA (54-18), Rockville (84-0), RHAM (62-6), and Newington (70-7) to win the annual Killingly Duals on Saturday. Killingly improved to 16-0.
Sam Burdick (138) paced the Redmen by winning all four matches, including three by pin.
NFA (8-7) placed second with wins over New Britain (40-33), and East Catholic (51-30). The Wildcats’ Doug Moore (182) went 4-0 with four pins.
Montville runners-up
FAIRFIELD - With 19 teams competing, Montville placed second to host Fairfield-Warde in the annual Fairfield-Warde Tournament on Saturday. Noah Caskey (132), Sam Kurry (152), and Dane Concascia (182) paced the Indians by winning their respective division championships. Caskey was voted the meet’s Most Outstanding Wrestler.
Also for the Indians, Nick Tibbetts was the runner-up at 220; Ian Anderson (145) and Darrick Deaveau (285) placed third; and Caleb Forehand was fourth at 170.

Botelho wins high jump
KINGSTON, R.I. - Griswold’s Kaliana Botelho won the girls high jump event at the Rhody Indoor Classic at the University of Rhode Island on Saturday. Botelho’s winning mark was 5-4.
Other top local performers included Windham’s Alex Korczynski, who won both the boys’ 1000 (2:33.66) and 1600 (4:19.19) meter runs; and East Lyme’s Rasa Kirvelevicious, who won the girls’ 3200 meter run in 12:31.61.
Fencing
NORWICH - NFA defeated Ledyard and Griswold in both men’s and women’s foil at an ECC varsity competition on Saturday. The Wildcats were led by co-captains Carolin Mercier and Maura Sanchi, who each won all six of their matches. Mercier scored 30 touches while only giving up four.
Ledyard swept the men’s epee competition behind Eric Banach, who won five of six matches.

LEDYARD - The New London girls’ basketball team beat Ledyard for the second time this season on Friday.
Junior Xaryia Melendez led the Whalers (8-0) with 20 points, while fellow junior Taina Pagan put up 15. The Colonels (4-4) got 15 points from senior Sarah Serbascewicz and 12 from senior Julia Lavin.
