A Thibodaux man was arrested Thursday night after officers found 51 doses of ecstasy and 14 grams of marijuana on him, police said.
Orenthius Richard, 40, 253 Sanders St., is charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, cocaine and ecstasy; possession of marijuana second offense; and contempt of court. He remained in the Lafourche Parish jail Saturday on a $55,500 bond.
Officers were conducting a bar check about 9:45 p.m. on St. Charles Street when they saw Richard sitting in his pickup truck, Thibodaux Police Chief Bryan Zeringue said in a news release. They knew he was wanted on a contempt of court charge.
Zeringue said officers smelled marijuana coming from the truck when they approached. They also recovered 6 grams of cocaine and 3 grams of crack cocaine, he said.
