Barcelona signed Coutinho from Liverpool yesterday in a deal that will see the Brazilian become the second most-expensive player in history.
The La Liga giants have parted with a huge £142million to land the 25-year-old.
However, they seemed to cope fine without him today, beating Levante 3-0 at the Nou Camp.
And, speaking after the game, Suarez expressed his delight at Coutinho's arrival and spoke of his belief the former Liverpool star will be a huge hit.
"I am very happy with the arrival of Coutinho," he said.
"He's a great player.
"It's a profile that the team will enter very well."
Barcelona ran riot against Levante with Suarez netting either side of goals from Messi and Paulinho.
And Paulinho, who plays alongside Coutinho for Barcelona, also hailed the player's arrival.

"Coutinho is a great player,” Paulinho said.
“I am sure that will help us very much.
“I am happy with the goals, but happier for the three points.”
Coutinho could make his Barcelona bow against Real Betis on January 21.
