From London to New York, lads and lasses rode on underground trains – in just a pair of pants.
Dubbed No Pants Subway Ride, or the more Brit-sounding No Trousers on the Tube Day in the UK, the weird tradition turned heads.

In London, more than 300 people braved the cold temperatures and joined the event, which took place this afternoon.
No Pants Subway Ride started as a prank in New York, US, in 2002 and has since spread to over 60 cities around the globe.
Last year 300 Londoners took part in the event, which always takes place in early January.

Today marked London’s ninth No Trousers Tube Ride stunt.
Organisers The Stiff Upper Lip Society encouraged people to join the group in Westminster before an hour and a half of riding trains and then an after-party.

The organisers added: “You can wear fun underwear if you like, but nothing that screams out, 'I wore this because I’m doing a silly stunt'.
“Wear two pairs of underwear if it makes you feel more comfortable.
"Don’t wear a thong or anything else that might offend people.
“Our aim is to make people laugh, not p*** them off.”
