SKOWHEGAN, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- The first death by fire of 2018 was a 53-year-old man who was found dead after a fire ignited in his mobile home in Harvey's mobile park in Skowhegan.
Police say the man was William Lashon, and that his body was found Saturday, January 6th after a well-being check.
Lashon's mother and a neighbor called the police to check on Lashon who had not been heard from since the snow storm on Thursday.
According to Skowhegan police, the fire was confined to a room that had been converted into a theater room. Investigators believe the electrical wiring is the likely cause of the fire and that the fire occurred sometime on Friday, January 5th.
