Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes are under a flash flood watch from 6 p.m. Sunday until Monday morning.
The watch includes Pointe Coupee, West and East Feliciana, St. Helena, Washington, St. Tammany, Iberville, West and East Baton Rouge, Ascension, Livingston, Assumption, St. James, St. John The Baptist, Lafourche, St. Charles, Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, Terrebonne, Tangipahoa, Wilkinson and Amite parishes. It also includes Mississippi counties Pike, Walthall ,Pearl River, Hancock, Harrison and Jackson.
Heavy rainfall is expected that could cause flash flooding of poorly drained areas and along the area streams and bayous.
The weather service expects 1 to 2 inches of rain per hour with accumulations of 2 to 4 inches or higher in isolated area.
