WINDHAM- A Windham woman was sent to the hospital with suspected serious injuries after she was ejected from her vehicle in a one-car crash overnight on Saturday, police said.
Police said 18-year-old Shania Slyman was driving a 2009 Honda Civic Ex-L westbound on Plains Road in Windham at approximately 12:44 a.m. on Saturday when she traveled off the right side of the roadway and into a snow embankment. Slyman then returned to the roadway and continued traveling westbound, only to enter into the right side snow embankment again, police said.
The car returned to the roadway once more and entered into the driveway of a property at 338 Plains Road, police said.
Slyman continued to drive through the property, where she struck a tree stump, according to an incident report provided by state police at Troop K in Colchester. The vehicle rolled onto its roof and came to a final rest in a wooded area on the 338 Plains Road property, police said. The 18-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle, according to the report.
She was transported to Hartford Hospital for "suspected serious injuries," police said, and the incident remains under investigation.
