New Delhi: On the last day of the winter session of Parliament, India’s IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad stunned opposition MPs who were raising voice on the safety of Aadhaar data after one minor incident of data hacking has come to limelight.

“India’s nuclear button is linked to PM’s Aadhaar number, what more credibility do you want on Aadhaar”, thundered Ravi Shankar Prasad while addressing the questions raised by Ghulam Nabi Azad on the floor of Rajya Sabha.

Mr. Prasad shared little bit of high level information how it works with few MPs who were present in the Rajya Sabha.

Mr. Prasad said, “First check is grid based six random digits which PM needs to enter from his secret Aadhaar number, this mechanism is somewhat similar to what banks like ICICI use during on-line transaction. 2nd level check is random finger scanning, it will ask for five fingers at least. It will cross verify the data that is present in Aadhaar data base”.

“We are working to add face recognition feature as third level verification. Software will match PM’s face with the photo that is in Aadhaar database. As Aadhaar database photograph is not good, it is failing every time, so we have kept it on hold”, said Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad.

On Kapil Sibal’s query how much time the whole verification process is taking, Mr. Prasad said, “Close to five minutes. Time is not a critical factor here; verification process has to be thorough as at any point of time the nuclear button should not come in to the hands of wrong people”.

In the meanwhile, Donald trump who has already claimed he has the biggest nuclear button on earth during his spat with North Korea said, “India might have the best verification process, but it cannot have a bigger nuclear button than US. Our button is so big, I will need my full family to help me in pressing it. One person simply cannot do it”.
