MOUNT VERNON, Iowa — The Knox College women’s basketball team was held to four points in the last 10 minutes of play in a 61-44 rout by Cornell on Saturday.
The Prairie Fire (8-5, 3-2) suffered cold shooting through out the game, shooting 15-for-44 (34.1 percent).
Knox fell behind 20-13 after the first quarter and trailed 32-22 at the break. The Fire rallied for an 18-15 third quarter but the Rams iced the game with a 14-4 fourth quarter.
Kyra Huffman led Knox with 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Hailey Leinart chipped in 12 points for the Fire.
