Butter is a food item that is loved by people across age-groups. The yellow slab miraculously manages to make food tastier, and is omnipresent in most homes across the world. And now, we have got some news that is sure to impress you and make you hungry at the same time. A half-ton (0.45 metric tons) of butter has been transformed into a sculpture for the 102nd annual Pennsylvania Farm Show. The sculpture celebrates the dairy industry and marks the start of the state’s 102nd Farm Show. The sculpture was unveiled on Thursday, January 4, and pictures of the sculpture have since gone viral. The farm show is scheduled from January 6 to January 13.

This year’s sculpture depicts the diversity of the Pennsylvania agriculture, according to the show’s Facebook and Twitter pages. It especially portrays the careers and roles that support the USD 5 billion dairy industry. Reportedly, the sculpture has been sponsored by the American Dairy Association North East (ADANE). The sculpture reflects the show’s theme this year, “Strength in our Diversity.” An agronomist, a dairy farmer, a cow, a milk processor and a shopper with a basket of goods are a part of the sculpture. The half-ton butter that has been used to make the sculpture came from waste scrap butter that was no longer suitable for human consumption.

Officials state that after the show, the sculpture will be taken to a Pennsylvania farm. It will then be converted into energy in a methane digester. The farm show is being held at the Pensylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg. The Pennsylvania Farm Show features thousands of animals, food, displays and other exhibits. The show features 12,000 competitive exhibits, more than 5,200 of which are animal competitions. It is the largest indoor agricultural event in the world, state news reports.
