Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho aims huge transfer ultimatum to Old Trafford chiefs

JOSE MOURINHO will only commit to a new Manchester United deal as long as the club deliver his top transfer targets, it has been said.

Jose Mourinho isn't ready to commit to a new Manchester United deal yet

Mourinho is in the January transfer window.

During his tenure so far, Mourinho has spent around £300million on new recruits.

But the huge outlay hasn’t paid dividends, and United find themselves 15 points adrift of Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Mourinho is desperate to close the gap on and off the pitch to City, and according to the Sun on Sunday, the Portuguese tactician wants to know what the club’s transfer policy is before signing a contract extension.

If you want to ask me directly if I see myself here next season at United, I say I see myself here

Jose Mourinho

On his wishlist is Tottenham star Danny Rose, Bordeaux winger Malcom and Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil.

The Sun claim Mourinho is far from happy that he won’t get his hands on the full £80m transfer kitty available.

It is said he wants to hold talks with the board, and remain at the club in the long-term if his demands are met.

The report also suggests that United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has urged the club not to spend too heavily this money.

The priority is on the need to bring in “value for money players” in terms of age and potential sell-on price.

Mourinho will have a year left to run on his contract at the end of the season.

When asked recently over his future, Mourinho said: “If you want to ask me directly if I see myself here next season at United, I say I see myself here.”
