Sky Sports reporter takes dig at Ross Barkley while discussing Emre Can’s move to Juventus
LIVERPOOL midfielder Emre Can is prepared to take a pay cut at Juventus, showing his move is not about the money.
That is according to Sky Sports’ transfer expert Dharmesh Sheth.
Can is out of contract at Liverpool in the summer and reportedly has an agreement to join Juventus.
Sheth was discussing the proposed deal on Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast.
He says the fact that Can could move for a smaller wage is opposite to Ross Barkley’s move to Chelsea, which he believes was a financial reason.

Sheth also says Liverpool can still persuade Can to stay until he puts pen to paper on a pre-contract agreement with Juve.
“Our colleagues in Sky Italy say there is an agreement in place but our sources have also told us Liverpool are still trying to convince him to stay,” Sheth said.
“So until that pre-contact agreement is signed, he’s still available for Liverpool to try and convince.
“There is talk that I’ve seen that he would get paid less at Juventus than he would at Liverpool, which begs the question ‘why would he leave Liverpool if the deal is better at Liverpool?’.

“The flip-side to what we were talking about earlier when we were talking about Ross Barkley, perhaps this is a footballing decision for him.”
Barkley joined Chelsea from Everton for £15million on Friday.
The England midfielder has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Stamford Bridge club.
