In recognition of the #MeToo movement, the mother-of-two chose to wear black for the star-studded awards in Beverly Hills, California.

Many stars including Meryl Streep, Heidi Klum and Dakota Johnson also chose to wear black in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment allegations. 

Legendary actress Meryl, 68, opted for a classic black gown that swept across the ground as she walked the red carpet.

The Devil Wears Prada star looked elegant in the off-shoulder dress, which cinched in at her waist to further accentuate her age defying curves. 

Meryl was accompanied by activist Ai-jen Poo who also wore a black dress for the Golden Globes awards.

The pair looked thrilled to be walking the red carpet together as they hugged and smiled widely for the paparazzi.

Meryl has been nominated for Best Performance By An Actress In A Motion Picture Drama for her role in The Post.

She will face fierce competition from the likes of Jessica Chastain, Michelle Williams, Frances McDormand and Sally Hawkins.
