Have You Seen This? Naughty toddler gets a fright

BEDTIME — When you’re a toddler, sometimes it’s hard to go to bed.

There are so many things to explore and drinks to ask for and toys to play with and questions to ask. It can be terribly tempting to go the route of Martha Stewart and only sleep four hours a night in order to build up your toddler empire.

If you are an intellectually advanced toddler reading this, you can relate. But it’s also important to remember that it’s almost always a good idea to listen to mom, and it’s especially important to listen to mom when it comes to eating your vegetables and going to bed.

Listen, all you reading tots, mom just wants to help you and make sure you rest so your brain and body can get even smarter and stronger. But if you are naughty and stay up past your bedtime to play, there are consequences.

For example, you could be tired all the next day and continually throw tantrums. And that’s no fun for anyone. But, as the featured video proves, sometimes the terrible, terrible consequences you suffer aren’t really done on purpose. It’s just a perfect storm of disobedience and the smartphone era.

In the video, a toddler who should be in bed is instead happily playing and singing in his room. Of course, most toddlers aren’t sneaky, so mom knows what’s up, and she heads down the hall with her smartphone camera rolling. The poor little guy doesn’t notice at first, but when he does, he gets a nasty fright.

I’m sure if you slowed down the video, you could see the exact moment when the small fright turns into the horrific realization that mom has caught him out of bed.

The mix of getting scared and knowing you’re in trouble all at the same time is just too much for one small boy to handle.
