Drivers asked not to be reckless while driving

Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan on Saturday urged transport workers to drive vehicles with caution and prudence, and behave well with passengers for better reputation of the sector.
He came up with the call while speaking at the triennial general meeting of 'Dhaka District Light Transport Workers' Union' at Mohanagar Natya Mancha in the city.
Describing the transport sector as service-oriented one, the minister said the transport workers are working for the development of the country.
He said the government is also taking various steps for the welfare of workers at different sectors.
Shajahan Khan, also executive president of Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation, said trade union should not be treated negatively as it helps resolve various problems through discussions.
He also said there is no violence in the public sector and tension among workers only because of trade unions.    —UNB
