ELMORE — Arcadia had no champions but had enough depth to top the field Saturday to capture the team title at the Woodmore “A” Classic.
The Redskins scored 103 points to edge Lake and Liberty-Benton, who tied for second in the 18-team field with 96½ points.
Patrick Henry, led by tournament most valuable wrestler Max Neiling, finished 10th with 68 points. North Baltimore (61) was 12th and Fostoria (28) ended up 17th among the 18 schools who participated.
Neiling earned the MVW award by winning the 138-pound weight class with a pin over Ayersville’s Garrett Shreve in 1:25.
John Hill was the top finisher for Arcadia as he advanced to the 285-pound final before dropping an 11-1 decision to Monroeville’s Trey Leroux.
There were two other area individual champions.
Liberty-Benton’s Nate DeRie won the 182-pound crown with a 7-6 win over Toledo Christian’s Bradley Geis.
North Baltimore’s David Patterson captured the 132-pound division with a win by injury default against New London’s Robbie Rittenour.
Liberty-Benton’s A.J. Dobbins was second at 220-pounds for the Eagles.

Hinton wins PIT
PERRYSBURG — Elmwood senior Dylan Hinton capped an impressive weekend by winning the 195-pound weight class at Saturday’s Perrysburg Invitational Tournament.
Hinton (21-2) started the day by whipping Defiance’s Noah Arnett 8-1 in the semifinals, handing Arnett just his second loss in 22 matches.
In the final, Hinton, a returning state qualifier for the Royals, stopped Delta’s Dylan Rogers 4-1.
Will Bechstein rebounded from being pinned by top-seeded Brandon Phillips of Maumee in Saturday morning’s semifinals to win two straight matches to place third at 220 pounds.
Kain Brossia added a seventh-place effort at 285 pounds for the Royals.
Genoa won the tournament with a 214-197 margin over Wauseon. Elmwood was 17th with 59 points.

Clary rolls at Gorman
MANSFIELD — Upper Sandusky’s Noah Clary rolled through the 182-pound weight class on his way to winning the 182-pound championship at the 56th annual Mansfield J.C. Gorman Invitational.
Clary recorded three pins in Friday’s preliminary round action and started Saturday with a pin in 2:45 against Ashland Crestview’s Cade Rogers. He had little trouble in the finals as he whipped Norwalk’s Gabe Phillips 17-2 for the title.
Teammate Connor Johnston dropped a 9-3 decision to Sandusky St. Mary’s Chris Kuhns in the 220-pound semifinals. Johnston rebounded nicely, though, recording two straight pins to end up third.
Brandon Derr added an eighth-place effort at 170.
Ashland scored 200 points to top Bay Village Bay (145) and Norton (145) for first place. Upper Sandusky was 12th in the 36-team event with 95½ points.

Grove’s Jones wins
WEST MILTON — Columbus Grove’s Enoch Jones pinned Brookville’s Chase Dyer in a time of 3:06 to win the 182-pound championship at Saturday’s Milton-Union Invitational.
Two other Columbus Grove wrestlers managed runner up finishes.
Caleb Langhals dropped a 7-0 decision to Milton-Union’s Aaron Beckman at 113 pounds and Jeff Meyer fell to Riverside’s Seth Topp by fall in 1:30 in the 285-pound title bout.
Dylan Pitts (152) and Dylan Sargeant (220) were third and Ezra Jones (170) ended up fourth for the Bulldogs.
Brookville scored 233½ points to win the tournament. Columbus Grove was fifth out of 12 teams with 158½ points.
