3.45kg heroin seized near IB in Abohar

FEROZEPUR: In a joint search operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and state special operation cell (SSOC) of Punjab Police thwarted a heroin smuggling bid by Pakistani smugglers and seized 3.45kg of the contraband near Gatti Yaru border outpost (BOP) in Abohar sector on Friday.

Acting on specific information, a joint team of the 169 Battalion of BSF and SSOC carried out a special search operation in the Gatti Yaru BOP between border security fence and the International Border (IB). The team recovered three packets of heroin from a field. Officials said the seized contraband was valued at Rs 15 crore in the international market.
