Former Sri Lankan ambassador to Mauritania, Thananayagam Eswaran, passed away yesterday, January 6.
The 75-year-old and passed away while receiving treatment at a hospital in Singapore. He was the Chairman of a renowned trading company in Sri Lanka and was awarded with the Deshabandu Award last year.
Former Ambassador Eswaran was born in August, 1942 in India and received his education at St. Benedict’s College, Kotahena. He was a graduate of the University of Madras.
His remains will be brought to the island today, January 7.
