On November 29, 2017, in his home in Ashland, Oregon, Malcolm Kingsley "Kim" Lewis Jr., left this earth for his heavenly home with his Lord Jesus, after losing his fight with colon cancer.
Kim loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was born in 1954 to Carolyn and Malcolm Lewis Sr. and was raised in West Palm Beach, Fla. He received his BA in 1975 from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. After graduation he headed west and ended up settling in Ashland, Oregon where he met and married Ginny Billings. Here they raised their family, started and ran multiple businesses, including his latest endeavor and passion, Main Street Tours, and served in his church and community.
Kim loved entertaining people and making them feel welcome. He was a local Rotarian, an avid tennis player, and a fishing enthusiast. Although many of his trips ended in some sort of adventurous mishap, he loved boating and venturing out on Oregon’s beautiful lakes, rivers and ocean bays.
His legacy will be continued by his loving and faithful wife, Ginny Lewis; his two children, Leah Daly (Liverpool, UK) and Christopher Lewis (Bend); and his beloved grandchildren, Nathaniel and Alyssa Daly. Kim is also survived by his sister, Wendy Allen (Alabama); nieces, Amy Hall and Stacy Allen (Alabama), and Lindsay and Brooke Lewis (Florida); nephews, Brad (Colorado) and Matthew Allen (Alabama); and uncle, Roger Lewis (Florida). He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Lewis; brother, Skip Lewis; and just recently by his father, Malcolm Lewis on November 17, 2017.
He will be dearly missed by those who loved him, and his life will be celebrated in a memorial service February 17, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Ashland Christian Fellowship. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the missions fund at Ashland Christian Fellowship or the Ashland Rotary Foundation, noting "The John and Gladys Billings Scholarship."
