Junior Blues top Peoria Mustangs, 3-2

ST. LOUIS — The high-powered St. Louis Junior Blues were too much for the Peoria Mustangs.

St. Louis (25-2-0-0) remained well in front of Peoria atop the NA3HL Midwest Division with a 3-2 victory Saturday at Affton Ice Rink. 

Brandon Hay scored in the second period for Peoria (14-13-0-1), pulling the Mustangs to within 2-1 at the 5:14 mark. Cody Layne and Jack Healy assisted on the power-play goal.

The Jr. Blues — third in the 43-team NA3HL in scoring — went ahead 3-1 at the 15:41 mark of the third. A minute later, Peoria's Jack Power Wayvon set the final score on an assist by Austin Keil.

Goaltender Jaden Gardner stopped 21 of 24 shots for Peoria.
