GEORGETOWN — The Sherman Bearcats closed out the Georgetown Tournament with a 4-1 loss against Waco Connally on Saturday.

Connally had a 1-0 half-time lead, then scored three more times before Joel Nandin produced a goal for the Bearcats (1-2).

In tournament action on Friday, Homero Chavez scored four times to lead the Bearcats to a 4-3 victory against Kingwood Park.

Chavez had three of his goals in the first half and then after Kingwood Park tied the match in the second half, Chavez netted the winning goal with two minutes remaining.

Gerald Clark and Miguel Ramirez each played a half in net for the Bearcats and both keepers made seven saves apiece.

Terrell Tournament

Denison 5, Dallas Conrad 0

TERRELL — The Lady Yellow Jackets picked up a shutout victory against Dallas Conrad on the final day of the Terrell Tournament.

The Lady Jackets also had a 2-1 loss against Athens on Saturday.

In tournament action on Friday, Denison lost against Terrell, 3-0, and to Richardson, 3-1.

The Lady Jackets (2-3), who have already have matched last season’s win total, host the Varsity Cup starting on Thursday.
