Eagle-eyed viewers pointed out that Big Brother chose for female contestants to be immune from the vote as the male housemates waited on them.

However, Channel 5’s Big Brother website posted about the challenge four years ago for series 15.

The day 24 task in 2014 read: “It’s Girl Power week in the House and things are already spicing up as the ladies are enjoying a day of relaxation and pampering courtesy of the boys.

“The ladies of leisure will pick four boys to give them spa treatments – including massages and manicures – and four to clean the House. As an added bonus all the cleaners have to wear fetching frilly pink uniforms.”

The show also added the element of a finishing school for boys.

It continued: “Danielle will be putting her claims of class into action with her Finishing School for Boys. One by one Marlon, Ash and Winston will be given lessons in how to be gentlemen. Then Danielle will critique clips of the boys’ behaviour and give them pointers on how they can improve.

“Earlier in the week BB called the boys into the Diary Room to ask them some controversial questions about women. Their answers will be viewed by the ladies in a private viewing later.

“We hope they’ve read The Female Eunuch but we’re not holding our breath.”

Spotting the similarities, one viewer tweeted: “This twist has already been done: Girl Power Week in BB15 #CBB.”

“Definitely seen this on #CBB before! Girl Power Week?” posted another.
